1) Singorellum Musicocify! Now a little known fact is that I love musicals. Even more, I love comedic musicals. I think the campiness and songs are usually laughable, yet very rarely do they fail to entertain; Little Shop, Avenue Q, the list goes on. Internet musicals are even more entertaining because really…. well who doesn’t want to see Harry Potter the Musical?! You can check out the musical and all of it’s glorious parts at Io9 here.
2) Speaking of musicals, Web Site Story was upload to College Humor yesterday. I wish I thought of that name first.
3) and…. because I’m on a roll, Great White Snark posted a really awesome Audrey II cake! Since Little Shop was the first play I was in when I was younger, it obviously has a special place in my heart. It should also have a special place in your heart; go watch Steve Martin as the most incredible, sadistic, singing Dentist of all time. You should bow down and make the proper sacrifices to your new idol. In related news, don’t feed the plants.
4) Geisha Missile! Geisha Dance! Geisha Army! Geisha Chainsaw! This – and more – will all make sense if you check out Robo Geisha! Thanks to Jeff, Io9 and Toplessrobot for the wonderful heads up.
5) New and prospective fathers between the ages of 20 & 30, unfortunately you will have to give up the quest to become your generation’s coolest father. That title was taken this afternoon when this father decided to teach his kid how to become Megaman. Unfortunately, the child’s arm was amputated to attach the megabuster, but that’s really a small price to pay for so much awesome.
6) I tried to resist, but I can’t. Here are some puppets singing about nanotechnology.
So what did we learn today? Gavin has a soft spot for musicals, geeky musicals and musicals featuring singing puppets. If you haven’t watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall yet, I highly recommend doing so; the epic finale combines Dracula, Puppets made by the Jim Henson Company and some amazing lyrics.
Edit: For whatever reason I can find the above clip online but the finale is no where to be found! It’s a shame, that finale is a must see.
